SVG is a markup language, Scalable Vector Graphics, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) for describing two-dimensional vector and mixed vector/raster graphics in XML. Animations, interactive images, and illustrative scripts are also supported. Description of three-dimensional objects is not supported. The basis of SVG is the VML format markup language and PGML.
